An ongoing personal publication that curates articles around specific themes for each issue. SNARE is a magazine that aims to challenge and contribute to popular visual culture by examining historical and contemporary trends through editorial design.

CHALLENGE

To curate a series of articles to redesign and layout in a personal zine. The first issue features selected articles and photography based around the theme of “Voyeurism”.

APPROACH

United under the theme of “Voyeurism” each article alters how the viewer interacts with the material. From inserts to cut out “peep holes” to gate folds, the information skirts between being obscured and revealed. The chosen articles range from nude photography to data surveillance to ultimately examine what constitutes as wrongful surveying. Who determines it as so and under what circumstances, whether it’s conducted by individuals or government entities?
